Search Students Lockers

Students lockers should not be searched unless there is solid evidence that a specific student is dealing with any illegal item. Lockers are school supplied areas for students to place their unused items inbetween classes, which means they are property of the school, but students spend seven hours at school every day and they should have a safe and secure area to place their objects without fearing that their locker will be searched. Lockers are the one place in school that a student can incorporate their outside life with their educational life. Unstable students such as those that Columbine were denied the security of a secure area where they didn't have to fit in, and they could be unique. The contents of an individuals locker is not always illegal, but more so inappropriate. Teaches or staff should not abuse their power by searching students locker. They already have the power to deny the use of certain objects within the classroom, they should not have to enforce their power outside of the classroom as well. As it says in the fourth amendment of the constitution "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Students should have the freedom and the responsibility to place whatever their heart desires into their lockers without having to fear random locker checks. All lockers should be a safe sanctuary for students unless their is solid proof that the student is placing illegal objects into his locker.

I agree with what you have to say. students should definetly not have their lockers searched. there locker is their own space and the only place to put there stuff. if the lockers should be only checked if the teachers feel they may find something. but others wise teachers should not be allowed to search your locker if they want.
