Drug Testing Students

Students should not be drug tested. They should only be tested if there is good reason such as juvenile diversion. But other than that, there is no logical reason to do it. If you were to take a random student and drug test him without reason, it's not very fair to him. Without proof of a student actually using drugs, drug tests should not happen. I know I wouldn't want someone taking me out of class randomly and make me pee in a cup. I would freak out and probably scream at them then leave. So yeah, drug tests should only happen with good reason and proof.

Although random drug searches might not be very fair to the kids being tested, it does not mean that kids wouldn't have to worry about the precautions of doing drugs. In other words, random drug testing might deplete the amount of drug using kids because of fear. While I beleive that some drugs shouldn't be illegal, I think that if you accept the laws then you should be able to abide by them.

If random drugs tests started to happen, they would actually have to be random. These tests would make the student always be thinking about when they might be tested and could possibly say no more often. Even though I don't think all drugs should be illegal, it would be a good idea to have random drug tests to stop students from doing more intense drugs.

Schools should randomly drug test all students so that people do not feel targetted or unfairly accused of using drugs. If students were not using drugs then the school would not feel the need to have drug tests. Also if the drug tests were not random then the students would be able to figure out ways to pass the drug tests if they were worried about being caught.
